Making Money - The Computer Geek Way
Lately, I’ve been doing very well getting customers at Guru.com. I’m just thankful that I have a skill that is marketable in the Internet marketplace. Its been alot of hard work though, but worth every minute. I have lately been looking into developing applications with YUI - Yahoo’s tools to create applications using DHTML/Javascript and AJAX technology. Its extremely cross browser compatible, and Yahoo’s new portal has elements that were created with it (check out their TV guide sometime).
I like the programming and consulting, but I also like to have multiple streams of revenue. So I’ve been looking into affiliate marketing. I think there’s some great potential to make money if you have the right tools. I signed up for this SEO course this year, and have not only learned the techniques people use to optimize their pages with SEO, but have seen their results. There’s a private forum in which they have been posting in a section thats dedicated to “Shout OUts - look what I did”, and I have seen people do really well.
Anyway, the author of a eBook “Project X”, has released a new book. His Project X book has done very well for the people I know who have used with with their current marketing campaigns - I would say some of his tips increased their chances to make any money nearly 100%. I can’t believe this one guy has figured out so many things about marketing - he must have a staff of people researching this.
Whatever is the cause of his success, that’s great, and I know his Project X has helped others, and has helped me sell a few eBooks, but I have been so busy programming and getting my current projects done, I don’t have much time to keep up the marketing campaigns I’ve already started! I plan on making the time, in the second half of this month of February (2007). But if you have the time, I would highly recommend getting his new book “Day Job Killer” that’s being released at a discount price of $77 today. In fact, it will only be at this price today and tomorrow, and then it goes to over $100 (I think $197). If this is nearly as ground breaking as his Project X was (which I regret not getting when it first came out…sigh), then I would highly recommend it. I was one of the first ones to buy it this afternoon at about Noon (even though he emailed everyone and said it wouldn’t be available till 3:00pm eastern time).
So check this out… if you want to think about it, I’ll probably post a review later, after I’ve finished one of my client’s projects a bit more:
